Every DTP3 CrossPoint model features reversible DTP3 ports that function as inputs or outputs, allowing a range of matrix configurations. Flexible signal routing and reliable digital video switching supports multiple applications in one installation and provides unique flexibility to reconfigure system capabilities as requirements evolve over time. A single model such as the DTP3 CrossPoint 884 supports 14 additional input/output configurations beyond the dedicated 8×8, as shown in the chart below.

The DTP3 CrossPoint Series provides Dante audio networking to enable audio transport over a local area network, opening access to a wide variety of compatible audio products. The 32×32 Dante interface is connected via primary and redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports, with PoE provided on the primary port.

Dante allows uncompressed high resolution digital audio to be distributed across a switched Ethernet network using standard TCP/IP protocols, while meeting the stringent quality requirements of professional audio.

Available for the DTP3 CrossPoint 662, DTP3 CrossPoint 642, and DTP3 CrossPoint 622, the integrated ShareLink Pro Wireless Presentation System enables anyone to present content from computers, tablets, or smartphones on a display for easy collaboration. It features advanced technology that supports simultaneous display of up to four devices, including any matrix switcher input. The ShareLink Pro has collaboration and moderator modes that facilitate both open and controlled collaboration environments, as well as dual Ethernet ports for more secure environments. ConferenceShare™ enables wireless sharing of video and audio from in-room USB devices with a Windows or macOS laptop running Teams, Zoom, or other UC meetings.

The Vector 4K scaling engine incorporates Extron-engineered, multi-tap, bicubic interpolation, which creates a new pixel by averaging adjacent pixels above, below, to the sides, and diagonally of the new pixel. This produces sharp, accurate output, preserving single-pixel detail that other scaling methods lack.

Vector 4K algorithms continually and dynamically adapt, ensuring optimal processing for upscaling, downscaling, or 1:1 pass-through application. Two less robust alternatives to bicubic interpolation are “nearest neighbor interpolation,” whereby a pixel is duplicated to an adjacent pixel, and “bilinear interpolation,” which creates a new pixel by averaging adjacent pixels above, below, and to the sides of the pixel being created. Both of these methods can produce substandard output, resulting in data loss that may render the content unusable.

For fast, glitch-free video switching performance in demanding applications, four seamless transition effects are available.

Cut through Black — instantly cuts the current input to black, then cuts to the new input
Fade through Black — fades the current input to black, then fades to the new input
Seamless Cut — freezes the current video frame, then instantly cuts to the new input
Seamless Fade — freezes the current input video frame, then fades to the newly selected input

The DTP3 CrossPoint Series features Extron ProDSP audio signal processing with Acoustic Echo Cancellation. The 64-bit floating point architecture ensures a very wide dynamic range. Audio signal transparency is maintained by studio grade 24-bit audio converters with 48 kHz sampling.

Setup and optimization is easy with the intuitive DSP Configurator Pro Software. The flexible on‑screen layout offers fast access to all digital audio signal processing tools, as well as AEC and noise cancellation settings. This includes level control, dynamics, filters, delay, ducking, loudness, feedback suppression, and matrix mixing, as well as real-time metering for ERL – echo return loss, ERLE – echo return loss enhancement, and TER – total echo reduction levels.

DTP3 CrossPoint IPCP A models feature a built-in Extron IP Link® Pro control processor with a secure, dedicated three-port AV LAN switch and one standard Ethernet port. PoE+ is provided on two of the AV LAN ports, offering convenient power for Extron TouchLink Pro control panels.

The network switch ports of the AV LAN are designed to control local AV devices, and safeguard them from outside intrusion or interference.

The DTP3 CrossPoint IPCP A models deliver high-speed processing and abundant control port capacity for complete, customizable control of an entire AV system, including all source devices and displays, plus lighting, window shades, projection screens, occupancy sensing, and more.

Supply Chain Issues are Resolved and Inventory Levels Have Returned to Normal

Dear Extron Customer,

I’m pleased to announce that at Extron, our supply chain issues have been resolved and we have returned to our normal mode of operation. What does “normal mode of operation” mean? For Extron, it means we now have over 93% of our current products on the shelves in sufficient quantities to meet demand at each of our warehouses around the world. This includes, but is not limited to, our NAV Pro AV-over-IP, DTP, XTP, FOX, DMP, TouchLink, IP Link, MediaLink product lines, and many others. For you, our customers, it means the freedom to submit orders for products on all major product lines and expect those orders to ship as requested, even same-day or next-day. It means backorders due to product shortages have been all but eliminated. I can confidently say that, at Extron, things are back to normal.

Extron has always maintained high levels of finished goods inventory. We view it as an integral part of our S3 Service Support and Solutions philosophy. Over the years, our customers have come to rely on Extron for swift and prompt order fulfilment. Our high inventory levels allowed us some extra time as we worked with our suppliers to resolve the impending shortages brought on by the supply chain crisis. Our highest priority has been the resolution of this issue, and solving it requires dedication and focus from virtually every department within our company. I am profoundly grateful for our team’s resilience and Extron’s adaptability during this global upheaval.

Emerging from this episode, I can confidently state that we are in a better position than ever to support you, our customers. Part of our solution involved not only securing components in quantities significant enough to meet current demand but also addressing the additional volume we’ve seen as customers move orders to Extron due to continued backorders from other manufacturers. ISA UV II IS EVERY AUDIOPHILE’S DREAM THANKS TO THE POWERFUL AUDIO SYSTEM CREATED BY VIDEOWORK

The Australian owner, a great music enthusiast, wanted everything on board their ISA 45m MY UV II (acronym for Ultra Violet) to be designed for the full enjoyment of audio and video sources
Installation power: 20,000 watts in total
Sound system on a par with professional recording studios, with a fully soundproofed room for listening to music without disturbing other guests
K-Array Audio system managed by processors with Symetrix’s Dante technology for hifi audio zones
Extron processors for surround systems in the main hall and owner’s lounge
HDMI 4K over IP 1Gbps video distribution via ZeeVee devices

Internet connection was also important: the 5G Peplink dual modem and Starlink antenna will allow owner and guests to chat and stream a movie in the middle of the ocean as if they were at home, or hold a video conference as if in the office.

At the heart of it all is the audio/video system, with K-Array speakers (known for its very high quality of sound) mounted throughout all the vessel and powered by a total of 20,000 watts, although they are normally used at about 40 per cent of their power. However, when the situation calls for it, there is a “Party Mode” on the sundeck, an upgrade with an input for the DJ console and an extra output for additional amplified speakers, for further enhancing the sound impact. The “Party Mode” function also makes it possible to select a source and play it in every area of the yacht, both outdoors and indoors, obviously with the possibility of selecting the area and of choosing different sources, and thus having customised music and volumes depending on where they are played.

Everything is controlled from a device (iPhone or iPad), and is managed by audio processors that use Symetrix’s Dante technology for the stereo zones, while Extron products are used where a surround sound processor is required, specifically in the main hall and owner lounge. The enjoyment of HDMI 4K video over IP 1Gbps is guaranteed by ZeeVee devices

Amplification is fully digital Class D with Powersoft devices; in the owner lounge there is the option to switch, via the control iPad, from surround sound configuration for watching films to hifi stereo for listening to music.

But the really special feature of this installation by Videoworks is the space created between the owner’s suite and the main hall, which resembles a large corridor when the thick soundproof doors are open. But when the doors are closed, it can be readily transformed into an exclusive room, a sort of completely soundproofed safe space for melomaniacs. An independent multimedia room is set up here, where the owner can indulge, in complete privacy and at all hours of the day and night, in listening to their favourite music at the volume that suits them best, without disturbing the other guests on board – all thanks to a top-notch 5.1 surround system, with five speakers and a subwoofer, suitable for a professional recording studio, and without forgetting a large TV screen

ISA UV II is the Australian owner’s third megayacht and has thus been modelled on their previous experiences. The Yacht along with the 20 underwater lights, at night is brightly lit up in violet, but you can choose any colour by selecting it from the iPad thanks to the ItwModeX app developed by Videoworks. The interiors, designed by Luca Dini, are characterised by a sober style with backlit wall panels, televisions camouflaged as mirrors and textured panel ceilings.

FROM YACHT TO NIGHTCLUB IN NO TIME

Another aspect increasingly in demand among owners is nightclub-inspired lighting systems, employing extremely flexible solutions in which the same light fixtures can be used for regular and architectural lighting, but make use of RGB technology to turn into party lighting systems. This year Videoworks showed an interactive wall and a ceiling projector at its stand: a discreet presence to be turned on when the owner wishes to create a nightclub scenario.

Use Next Gen AV Power Management with Extron Control Systems

We are pleased to introduce the IPL EXP PDU4H control system power expansion interface that provides centralized power management for small to medium sized AV systems. It delivers the ability to control individual AC outputs remotely and allows for aggregate current sensing. vRCP for SMP Series

Extron is pleased to introduce vRCP, a new Virtual Remote Control Panel, which enables remote control of any Extron SMP Streaming Media Processor using the browser on any mobile device. Simply install the free vRCP FlexOS App on your SMP Series products to give users access to common functions like starting, stopping, pausing, and marking recordings.

“We recognize the increasing need for the flexible remote control that offers users the ability to bring their own device and leverage it for in-room AV control,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. “That’s why we created the new, free vRCP app, which places SMP device control directly into the hands of presenters using a familiar device, wherever they are in the room, and alleviating the need to touch AV control surfaces.”

With the vRCP FlexOS App, users can remotely control SMP Series products without the need for a physical RCP 101 remote control panel, or it can be used in conjunction with an RCP.
