Bring Single-Cable USB-C Connectivity to NAV Pro AV over IP Systems

na_navg45_dsg0101nrr_dv30

NAV E 522 and NAV SD 521

Introducing the NAV E 522 two-input switching encoder and NAV SD 521 scaling decoder, powerful AV over IP endpoints that deliver flexible signal distribution, switching, scaling, and USB extension over standard 1 Gbps IP networks. Designed for modern meeting, collaboration, and presentation environments, these new endpoints simplify connectivity while expanding the capabilities of NAV systems.

The NAV E 522 switching encoder brings single-cable USB-C connectivity to the NAV System, enabling video, audio, USB data, and optional device charging to be delivered between a USB-C host device and the encoder. By combining USB-C AV input, USB host connectivity, and power delivery in one encoder, the NAV E 522 provides a clean and streamlined laptop connection experience.

Another key advantage of the NAV E 522 is its ability to support multiple NAV SD 521 scaling decoders, each connected to USB 2.0 peripherals such as cameras, microphones, DSPs, touch displays, HID devices, and other USB equipment. These devices can all be made available to a single USB-C host connected to the NAV E 522, creating a seamless room experience in which one laptop gains access to distributed AV resources and remote USB devices throughout the NAV system.

Additionally, the NAV E 522 switching encoder includes an HDMI input and USB-C host interface for added flexibility. The NAV SD 521 complements the encoder with local HDMI input switching, decoding, scaling, and USB 2.0 or HID extension, while also providing power to USB devices. Support for AES67 audio over IP enables integration with Extron DMP Plus DSPs and other networked audio components. As part of the highly scalable NAV platform, the NAV E 522 and NAV SD 521 are purpose-built for demanding professional AV environments and secure deployment of AV signals to thousands of endpoints.

Key Features

  • Provides a single USB-C connection for video, audio, USB data, and optional device power delivery
  • Connects multiple NAV SD 521 endpoints and their USB 2.0 devices back to one NAV E 522 Host USB‑C port
  • Supports USB 2.0 and HID extension for remote peripherals such as cameras, microphones, touch displays, DSPs, keyboards, and mice
  • Supports resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling
  • Allows USB-C and HDMI source flexibility at the encoder with NAV stream and local AV source switching at the decoder
  • PURE3® codec delivers visually lossless video with improved network resiliency
  • The NAV SD 521 delivers Advanced Extron Vector™ 4K scaling technology
  • The NAV E 522 powers USB-C devices with up to 100 watts using the optional integrator-friendly UPI 100 power inserter that can be located up to 330 feet (100 m) from the encoder

Kiosk Tablet: W. L. Gore & Associates

Goretex approached us showing their magnificent new shoe that was waterproof, comfortable and capable for heeling feet. They wanted to digitally show consumers this high-tech shoe in a non-traditional way.

Weixin Image_2026-10-20_112947_265

W. L. Gore & Associates has made its name by creating innovative, technology-driven solutions, from medical devices that treat aneurysms to high-performance GORE TEX® fabrics. A privately held company with annual sales of more than $3 billion, Gore is committed to perpetuating its 50-plus year tradition of product innovation.

The Problem

How to display and tell the story behind the new invented shoe?

Goretex approached us showing their magnificent new shoe that was waterproof, comfortable and capable for heeling feet. They wanted to digitally show consumers this high-tech shoe in a non-traditional way.

The Solution

22” LCD Transparent Screen Display Box

Gore-Tex being the leading edge in manufacturing of fabrics, did not want to use conventional ways of merely displaying a looping video for their new invented shoe. Glory Star’s transparent screen enabled Goretex to combine the view of their authentic shoe in the box and created an effect of rain draining down the waterproof shoe and preformed strong in all weather conditions. The message was strong to consumers and the size of a 21.5inch was the prefect size for shelf edges and exhibition booth display.

The program was first launched in Germany and later on implemented in USA, Japan, Korea, Beijing the worldwide.
