Radboud University Chooses Extron and Fidato for Flexible AV Infrastructure

Radboud University in the Netherlands consistently ranks among the top 150 educational institutions worldwide. As part of its commitment to enriching educational experiences through technology, Radboud undertook a significant AV upgrade across three instructional spaces on its Heyendaal campus. Led by Dutch integrator Fidato B.V., the project focused on improving flexibility, usability, and long-term scalability. Extron technologies formed the core of this strategic installation.

The AV systems in the three learning spaces, each approximately seven years old, were beginning to show their age. A new system that would deliver operational efficiency, ease of use, and long-term adaptability was essential. To meet these needs, Fidato selected Extron’s NAV® Pro AV over IP solution for distribution and switching, citing its proven reliability, efficient installation, and license-free operation.

Extron Seamless Control and Scalable AV Elevate London School of Economics’ Flagship Lecture Theatre

To meet the evolving expectations for hybrid teaching, media production, and live conferencing, the Sheikh Zayed Theatre at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) recently embarked on a complete overhaul of the its AV infrastructure. A favored venue for internationally recognized speakers and the recording of BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions, the theatre is vital to the intellectual and civic life of the university. Reliability was paramount; any downtime or complexity in system navigation could compromise high-stakes broadcasts or scheduled lectures.

LSE collaborated with UK-based integrator GVAV Ltd and Extron to develop a system centered on network-based video distribution and intuitive AV control. The design team selected Extron NAV Pro AV over IP system for its scalability, signal fidelity, and ease of integration with both HDMI and USB sources. The positive impact of the new system was immediate: faculty, students, and visiting presenters benefit from the flexibility to route any source to any display with a single touch.
